Midnight Scribbles

I feel good relationships are like good books.
Came into my life just as swiftly as that tuesday afternoon in a bookstore.
Engulfed me totally,kept me glued to the break of dawn,
Exactly like how I turn my pages.
And then they ended just like all good books do.
Sometimes left me thinking,
Sometimes smiling,
Sometimes weeping and
Sometimes fulfilled...
Even after being long done,
Good books still lie on my bedside shelf, arranged and clean.
And,
Good relationships too still lie on the shelves of my memory, cherished and loved.
Gifted with an enriched mind by these books,
And left with an enriched heart,
stories to my pen and 
wings to my soul by these relationships.
Maybe that's why we say that that being is in my "good books".

The Serpentine Lanes of Varanasi

V aranasi, a holy city, is popular for the presence of its long stretch of beautiful ghats, temples, holy river Ganges, its indigenous cuisine, and the list goes on. But the main attraction for me is the  'gullies'  of Varanasi; narrow alleyways between tall stone buildings in the old part of the city. The world inside these gullies is enormous and beautiful in its own way.  One day I got an opportunity to take a journey inside the gullies with the help of Walks of Varanasi. The journey was from Nai Sarak, to Dashswamedh Ghat. In between we passed through colorful and scintillating markets of Varanasi along the serpentine lanes. As you enter the lane you see several stores, which have been there for several decades. Moving forward one can observe the transition from garment market to jewelry market to kite market to artifact market and many more. Life After Death You live for years and then in the end you die. What really happens after death? Nobody knows. Some say good ones go to heaven and bad ones to hell. If you are a Bollywood fan, you may think of reincarnation so as to avenge the killing of your loved one as in Karan-Arjun. But I don’t believe in this all.
