Phoenix - The story of Resurrection

Image
Watching the good old harry potter movie, I came across a very magnificent creature…the phoenix. Yup, the big blazing bird which burns itself and reborn from its own ashes. Though seen before more times than I can count, the story of this creature caught me this time for a moment. The bird which burns itself and is born from the same end. Kind of reminds me of the situations one suffers in real life where we burn ourselves with the conflicts going on between our minds and our hearts. We are all very familiar to such situations where we end up at the crossroads and don’t know where our life is heading anymore. Feels quiet helpless. Out of ways and certainly out of reasons to hold on to anything. Yes friends, life throws us all such curves which brings us down to our knees and kind of wondering why did it happen to us? A failure faced, a job lost, a betrayal or a heartbreak maybe that made you dark, faithless, alone, angry….LOST. The feelings, deep emotions, attachments and spe...

Best Michael Jackson Quotes

Image
Michael Jackson aka "King of pop". The man who had broke almost every possible musical record. A Megastar. A legend. His music and dance is an amazing gift for the world.Which will last forever. With so many record and a wonderful career. A time came when Michael saw downs in his life. For some people he was "good" and for some he was "bad". I don't know whether he was good or bad, but certainly from my opinion he become the most misunderstood person in this world. Few quotes of the king of Pop which were heart touching :- 1. "Before you judge me, try hard to love me, look within your heart, then ask- have you seen my childhood?" 2."If you enter this world knowing you are loved and leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with." 3."Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons." 4."Smile and maybe tomorrow you'll see that life still has meaning." ...

We The People

Image
Does the largest democracy in the world have a right representation in the parliament? The formulators of the Indian constitution surely thought so when the First Past the Post (FPTP) system i.e. the current system. But few thinkers have started to feel that it is not the right system. They ask a question the people who voted for the losing candidate do they have a representative in the government? Well, no doubt they are right. The present system in which winner takes all, even though the winning candidate has won by a single vote, is not the right system.   Is proportional representation the way forward where the losing party/candidate also has a say in the governance? The representation surely improves through this method, but it has its cons. When the power is divided the question arises who will take the stand and who will lead? In a country like India where voters vote for the candidate as the same caste as theirs’, where votes are bought with money, where voters ar...

She was 17

Image
She was 17….  He was 18!  Both met in a bus…  Amongst the utterly rush!  Their eyes met ….  And so the butterfly in the stomach was set!  Both wined to see each other …  For love began to flow in the air!  He asked her out….  She said she didn’t belong!  For the boy started falling …  Followed her way home crying and calling!  She said she was poor..  Mother was ill and she had to take care!  Turned towards the lane to her home…  It was the “famous” GB Road.

Dance

Image
Dance is an art. Dance is an expression, it expresses your feelings and the passion you have. Anybody can dance but only passionate ones can make it a profession. For them dance is life. The one thing that I always like about dance is that you can only dance when you feel it from inside. Dance shows happiness. It shows your state of “feel good”.                                                    “Life is dancing to your own tunes.” People dance when they are joyful even though they don’t know how to. It’s just movement of your body with the beats. Sometime you miss the beats, sometime you  accidentally  sync with it. If you play a song to a baby who can’t even walk and speak, even at some beats they smile and mo...

The Serpentine Lanes of Varanasi

Image
V aranasi, a holy city, is popular for the presence of its long stretch of beautiful ghats, temples, holy river Ganges, its indigenous cuisine, and the list goes on. But the main attraction for me is the  'gullies'  of Varanasi; narrow alleyways between tall stone buildings in the old part of the city. The world inside these gullies is enormous and beautiful in its own way.  One day I got an opportunity to take a journey inside the gullies with the help of Walks of Varanasi. The journey was from Nai Sarak, to Dashswamedh Ghat. In between we passed through colorful and scintillating markets of Varanasi along the serpentine lanes. As you enter the lane you see several stores, which have been there for several decades. Moving forward one can observe the transition from garment market to jewelry market to kite market to artifact market and many more. Moreover, one can experience the various old cultures of doing business like the Gaddi system. And ...

Life After Death

Image
Life After Death You live for years and then in the end you die. What really happens after death? Nobody knows. Some say good ones go to heaven and bad ones to hell. If you are a Bollywood fan, you may think of reincarnation so as to avenge the killing of your loved one as in Karan-Arjun. But I don’t believe in this all. I believe, in this world only few live, and they go on to live forever after their death.  John Lennon Quoted – “And we all shine on like moon and like stars and like the sun.”   We all are born for a reason and have capability to shine. All we have to do is live a worthy life and shine forever.  But only few shine forever like Mahatma Gandhi, Michael Jackson and Abraham Lincoln etc. All those people believed in themselves. They set an example through their life. And even after their death they are still alive. They are alive through their work, they are alive through their ideology. Death is the destination we all share no matter ...

His professional football career started with RC Strasbourg in 1978 (against Monaco where he’d become a coach 10 years later). He played a handful of matches for them in that season, and eventually won Ligue 1 too. He even played once in the UEFA Cup, but that is about it.   3. It is Arsene who introduced George Weah to European football A lot has been said about how Wenger brought an ignored Thierry Henry from Juventus to Arsenal and made him the great player as we know now.
