A Summer of 50's

In the summer of 50's I came to the country, Saw the sunkissed fields and the balmy evenings. Then you introduced me to the river Elsa, That magnificent, Like some flowing molten blue sapphire. You,who took me to that bridge. You,who had a baritone and You,who had those grey eyes and that dreamy gaze. And I who found you achingly handsome. That night you called me out, I came in my most beautiful purple dress. And the dreamy gaze you laid, sent some happy chills down my spine. But then you took me beyond the black stump, Where that baritone became deafening, That gaze made me ashen, Those hands which ripped off my most beautiful purple dress. And my shrieks muffled beneath your skin. My eyes were stabbed and my lifeless body thrown into Elsa. But now,I am beyond and here. For you took my sight, All shall die who I sense on the bridge.
